Closed questions

• These are questions where there is a fixed choice of responses determined by the researcher, for example any question that will result in a yes or no answer.
• straightforward for researchers who can easily compare responses to individual questions they wanted to ask.
• However downside is yes and no answers do not add any additional useful detail, may therefore lack validity as we do not know why the pp responded in how they did.
