  • Ribbon is the menu bar at the top of the window. It contains various tools, organized by tabs, that help you edit and format a document.
  •  File Tab is used to open the Backstage View that gives you access to file functions. For example, from the File tab, you can access the Open, Save, Close, Properties, and Recent file options.
  • Word Processing is essentially using a computer to create, edit, format, and store text documents
  • Microsoft Word is a word-processing program developed by Microsoft
  • Start Screen is the space that provides options to create a new document from scratch

  • Ctrl + 0 = open existing document
