    'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' is a novel which is coloured the life of Eleanor Oliphant, a woman who believes she's content with being alone. It isn't until she meets Raymond, a man who works at the same office as her, that she slowly begins to socialise and come out more. Throughout Eleanor's childhood, her mother abused her and her sister until Mummy, Eleanor's mother burned their home down with her two children inside, resulting in the death of Eleanor's little sister and Mummy herself.

    However, the voice of Mummy stays with her into adulthood, as does her trauma. When Eleanor hits rock bottom after realising the man, she fantasised about was nothing but a fantasy she seeks professional help with the help of Raymond. Eventually Eleanor lets got of her childhood trauma and overcomes her overwhelming loneliness.
