• Ingestion - first process that happens. taking in food into the body through MOUTH.
• Digestion - 2nd process , breaking down of food so that it can be absorbed by body
• Absorption - 3rd process , process of absorbing food in the form of nutrients into the bloodstream of body
• Assimilation -4th process , process of nutrients being absorbed by each cell of the body in the form of energy
• Egestion/Elimination - last process waste or unwanted or excess substances after food has been digested
• Mechanical digestion - involves breaking down of food into smaller particles using our teeth
• Chemical digestion - breakdown of complex molecules into small soluble ones
• Complete digestive system - it has complete parts of digestive system
• Incomplete digestive system - there is only a SINGLE opening for the ingestion of food ( no anus)
