Brachial Plexus extra

• The Brachial Plexus:

  • a network of nerves extending from the spinal cord
  • Which travels over the 1st rib, behind the clavicle and into “axilla”

  
• The Axilla:

  • A pyramid shaped region inferomedial to the shoulder joint
  • Contains the brachial plexus and the vessels of the upper limb

  
• The Brachial Plexus:

  • formed by ventral rami C5 - T1
  • Roots become trunks
  • Trunks become divisions
  • Divisions become cords
  • Cords become the terminal branches
