• Being hygienic - Washing hands to prevent infection being spread
• Destroying vectors - Prevents the disease from being passed on, e.g. using insecticides or destroying their habitat
• Isolating infected individuals - prevents it from being passed on
• Vaccination - less likely to develop an infection and pass it on
