  1. 24 children watched a male model acting aggressively towards a bobo doll

  2. In some cases they used a hammer and threw the doll in the air

  3. Others were part of non-aggressive or control condition
• Stage 2 - Aggression arousal


  The children are separately taken into rooms to play with the toys
• Stage 3 - Test for delayed imitation


  1. Aggressive and non-aggressive toys in the room

  2. Children are in there for 20 minutes

  3. Observed through a one way mirror
• Sample


  • 36 boys and 36 girls
  • No gender bias
  • 24 children in each condition
  • Aged between 3-5 years old
  • All from the same university nursery school
  • Ethnocentric
