Parallel Series

Cards (10)

  • Parallel circuit - Contains two or more electrical component connected across each other in such a way that the current is distributed between them.
  • In parallel circuits, Each component operates independently of the others.
  • What happens if the circuit is broken at any point? - The current will flow through the others.
  • Current is distributed between each components.
  • Parallel current formula:
    š‘°š‘» = š‘°šŸ + š‘°šŸ + š‘°šŸ‘ ...
  • Voltage - The potential difference across all the resistors is the same as that across any resistor.
  • Parallel voltage formula:
    š‘½š‘» = š‘½šŸ = š‘½šŸ = š‘½šŸ‘ ...
  • Resistance - The reciprocal of the combined resistance is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of the individual resistances.
  • Parallel resistance formula:
    1/RT = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
  • Connecting additional resistors in parallel decreases the equivalent resistance.
