Parallel circuit
- Contains two or more electrical component connected across each other in such a way that the current is distributed between them.
In parallel circuits, Each
component
operates
independently
of the others.
What happens if the circuit is broken at any point? - The current will
flow through
the others.
Current
is distributed between each components.
Parallel current formula:
š°š» = š°š + š°š + š°š ...
Voltage
- The potential difference across all the resistors is the
same
as that across any resistor.
Parallel voltage formula:
š½š» = š½š = š½š = š½š ...
Resistance
- The reciprocal of the combined resistance is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of the individual resistances.
Parallel resistance formula:
1/RT = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3
Connecting additional resistors in parallel
decreases
the equivalent resistance.
