• What is marketisation ?

  Is a meth of introducing comp in public services. Its done by reducing state control and exposing services to the free market of supply and demand based on comp and customer choice. In edu, schools compete for customer attraction and parents choose which school to send their child to.
• The New right has some similarities with functionalism which include:

  
  

  1. Education should socialise pupils into accepting the shared values which helps provide a sense of cohesion to ensure a stable society.

  
  

  2. Education is important for a successful economy as it trains students into workforce.

  
  

  3. meritocracy (students with best abilities should be allocated top jobs).
