Storage types

Cards (6)

    • Solid-state storage uses flash memory to store data.
    • Optical storage - works by reflecting laser lights onto the surface of rotating disks, reading the reflections as 1s or 0s.
    • Magnetic- Mechanical parts move over the disk to read and write data magnetically
  • SSD-+ fastest access time, expensive, medium in capacity, portable, durable
  • Optical +- low capacity, slowest access speed, cheap cost, poor reliability (not durable) , thin and portable
  • Magnetic+- large capacity, cheaper cost (than SSD), not portable as moving parts, slower access speed (but faster than optical)
