  FPTP- voters only have 1 choice- UK general election

  SV- voters get first and second choice- London Mayor

  STV- voters rank candidates in order of preference- Scottish local elections and Northern Ireland Assembly

  AMS- voters have two choices, 1 for the constituency and 1 the poltical party - Scottish and Welsh parliament and Greater London Authority elections
