  Explicit collection of personal experiences that occurred at a particular time and place which involve several elements such as people,places,objects and behaviour woven into one memory
• Semantic memory


  Explicit network of associated facts and concepts that make up our general knowledge of the world but are not are not time stamped and are less personal eg-a combination of an encyclopaedia and dictionary

  Memories that are unconsciously recalled but affect the behaviour and knowledge involved in performing a particular task

  Pro,memory loss at an old age is specific to episodic memory since it is harder to recall memories of recent events as a study developed an intervention for older people targeting their episodic memory which concluded in their memory improved compared to a control group, suggesting that distinguishing between LTM enables specific treatment
