  • New Moon - This phase marks the beginning of the lunar cycle and is characterized by the absence of visible moonlight.
  • Waxing Crescent Moon - During this phase, a small sliver of the moon becomes visible in the sky and it is characterized by its crescent shape.
  • First Quarter ( waxing half ) - a phase in the lunar cycle occurring approximately one week after the New Moon and it resembling a semicircle.
  • Waxing Gibbous - During this phase, more than half of the moon's surface appears illuminated, but it's not yet fully lit up like during the Full Moon phase.
  • Full Moon -  is a phase in the lunar cycle when the moon appears fully illuminated as seen from Earth.
  • Waning Gibbous Moon - is an intermediary phase between the Full Moon and Third Quarter.
  • Gibbous - refers to its slightly flattened shape, indicating it's moving towards the Third Quarter.
