  • The amount of medicine in each ml
  • The expire date
  • The kind of injection
• Intravenous injection (IV)


  Delivers fluids or therapy directly into a vein
• Medical equipment and tools

  • Suitable syringe
  • Tourniquet
  • Alcohol
  • Cotton
• Procedure for intravenous injection

  1. Wash hands

  2. Put on gloves

  3. Prepare the syringe with drug

  4. Apply tourniquet up site of injection

  5. Ask patient to open and close his fingers

  6. Clean the site

  7. Insert needle at 45 degree of angle in the line with vein

  8. When blood comes insert needle further into vein

  9. Remove tourniquet

  10. Push drug very slowly

  11. Remove needle and put cotton in place for a minute

  A method to inject drug deeply into muscle tissue

  • The angle of needle must be at 90 degree
• Sites of IM injection

  • Deltoid site
  • Gluteal region
• Intradermal injection


  A method of injecting small amount of fluid into the dermal layer of skin
