  • Must be ages 18 - 65 and retire at 70.
  • Must have no serious criminal convictions.
  • Must not have been banned from driving in the past 5 - 10 years.
  • Must not have been declared bankrupt.
  • Must not work a job with conflict of interest e.g police officer.
  • Required to participate in judicial aptitude tests and case studies.
  • Selection is based on merit.
  • 6 key qualities: 
    • Good character, 
    • Understanding and communication
    • Social awareness, 
    • Maturity and sound temperament, 
    • Sound judgement, 
    • Commitment
    • Reliability
  • Complete application form, those who are shortlisted complete two-stage interview process.
  • Can't be of all same gender.
