• Ethical is the moral or right thing to do, or the correct way to behave or act.
• Digital divide is the difference between those who have and don't have access to technology. For example, the elderly or people in poverty.
• Renewable is a resource that can be replenished as it is used.
• Non-renewable is a resource that is used up and cannot be replaced.
• Data protection act took place in 2018 and it is a law that protects the personal data of individuals.
• Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by a website's server. They are used to store information about a user's browsing session and/or their preferences.
• Computer misuse act took place in 1990 and it is a criminal offence to hack into a computer system without permission.
• Copyright is the legal right granted to the creator of an original work to prevent others from copying, selling, or distributing the work.
• Patent is a legal right granted by the government to an inventor for a limited period of time to prevent others from making, using, or selling the invention.
• Software licenses is a legal agreement between the software publisher and the user.
• Proprietary software is software that is owned by a single company and is not open source.
• Open source is a software program that is available to the public to use, modify, and redistribute.
• Copyright Designs and Patents act took place in 1988 and is a law that protects the rights of creators of intellectual property.
