The sign test is used to analyse the difference in scores between related items like the same participant being tested twice
how to calculate sign test:
the score for condition B is subtracted from condition A to produce the sign of difference (+ or -)
add up the amount of + or -
participants who achieved the same score in condition A and B should be disregarded and deducted from the N value
the S value is the total of the lessfrequent sign (+ or -)
If S is equal to or less than the critical value, then S is significant and the null hypothesis is accepted and the alternative hypothesis is rejected at 5% level of certainty
