    .'I' immediately acknowledges the reader that the hawk is controlling the poem, but also nature

    .'eyes closed' a hint of arrogance as he feels safe enough to put himself in a vulnerable position to be attacked by a predator, but he does this calmly as he believes nothing is a threat to him

    .the hawk is the tyrant of the woodland
    .implies that the hawk can control the circle of life, and that humans should not involve in it (CONTEXT: poem was written from 1960-2000s when nature was under threat of being built on and by pollution)
    .Power of hawk is used to scare readers in hope that nature would be kept safe
