  • Perimenopause
    The transition period a woman experiences before reaching the menopause (when the ovaries stop making eggs). It is the gradual decrease in production of oestrogen in the ovaries.
  • Perimenopause usually happens in the early 40s but can happen in the mid late 30s. It lasts 4 years approx
  • The perimenopause is said to have finished when a woman has not had a period for 12 months
