    • finding a percentage of a quantity: (quantity) x (total) / (total) x
    • To write a percentage as an amount: write the numerator in the numerator of a fraction, write the whole amount as a denominator, and multiply by 100.
    • decreasing as a percentage: multiply the percentage as a whole amount
    • Unitary method: Find 1% of the quantity, then multiply by 100.
  • Cost price= how much they buy the item for
  • selling price: how much they sell the item for
  • GST: It is a TAX paid to the government on

    • Ordinal: categories that can be ordered, (fan settings: low, medium, high, Ranks: a, b, c)
  • Types of quantitive:
    • discrete: Things that can be counted
    • Continuous: data that can only be measured
  • Mean: The average
  • Median: The middle number
  • Mode: The most common number
  • Range: The difference between the highest and lowest values in a data set.
  • Frequency Histogram: A graph representing the information on a frequency table.
  • Polygon: The line on top of the frequency histogram
  • Ways to collect data are: surveys, interviews, questionnaires, observations, experiments, and focus groups
  • A census is: A survey of the whole population, not just a group.
