Because they replicate inside cells meaning it's hard to destroy them without destroying cells

They mutate and become resistant

Only non-resistant bacteria will die, meaning the resistant strains will increase and reproduce to become more prevalent than non-resistant strains

How can resistant strains of bacteria be prevented from increasing? 
Only prescribing antibiotics for only necessary infections
Why is it important to finish a whole course of antibiotics? 
To completely kill all the bacteria to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance
