    The vaccines contain antigens which the immune system produces antibodies to fight against even though the pathogen cannot harm you
  • How will a person who has been vaccinated fight off the disease they have been vaccinated against?
    The body remembers how to produce the antibodies for the pathogen and therefore can fight off the disease much quicker
  • What are the pros of vaccination?
    • They help control many communicable diseases which used to be common and have even fully eliminated some like smallpox
    • Epidemics can be prevented if a large percentage of the population is vaccinated
  • What are the cons of vaccines?
    • They don't always work
    • You can have a bad reaction to the vaccine but it is very rare
