Postmortem

• Provide a very detailed examination of anatomical structure and neurochemical aspects of the brain. This can not be done by other forms of brain measurement.
• Can access parts of the brain like the hypothalamus hippocampus.
• Iverson performed post mortem on patients with schizophrenia. Found that they had deeper concentration of dopamine in their limbic system.
• Causation is hard to decipher. Maybe deficits in the brain are a result of something else - maybe that's what caused their death
• Does someone give informed consent for a postmortem?
• Case study: Broca's area
