      Producers e.g. farmers in LICS get a better price e.g. by joining together to form a cooperative
    • Formal economy
      Employment where people have a contract so get regular wages, sick pay. paid holidays. They also pay tax
    • Informal economy
      Employment where people do not have a contract so not not get benefits such as job security; they do not pay tax
    • Inequality
      Differences between poverty, wealth and development. This can be at different scales e.g. between countries, within countries or even within cities
    • Infrastructure
      The basic equipment and structures e.g. roads, water pipes, electricity. internet and buildings
    • Appropriate technology
      Technology suited to the needs, skills, wealth and knowledge of the local people
    • International aid
      Money, goods and services given by governments (or intergovernmental organisations) to support another country. This can be emergency aid e.g. after an earthquake or development aid, for long term changes
