    o   Located in brazil, world’s largest rainforest which covers 40% of south American land 
    o   Typically, high levels of precip and evap with vegetation to intercept and slow run off into rivers 
  • AMAZONIA- DEFORESTATION
    o   With deforestation occurring for timber or land for farming, interception reduced and over land saturated flow increases, increasing risk of FLOODING
    o   Deforestation can also lead to lower levels of evapotranspiration, less clouds forming, so less precipitation leading to an increased risk of DROUGHT.
