    • The South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) made investment grants before it was abolished in 2010
    • Most grants have been cut and are now given out by central government

    • The public sector (NHS and Cornwall Council) is Cornwall's largest employer
    • Since 2010, Cornwall Council has had no start-up funding. It offers rebates on business taxes as a part of its Enterprise Zone at Newquay
    • A Local Enterprise Partnership supports business growth, but little funding is available - only 'help with exports, training or start-up advice'
  • Stakeholders in the local economy
    • The biggest industry is tourism,. It wants better infrastructure (roads, rail and air travel)
    • Other industries include food and farming. They want greater economic expansion
  • Environmental stakeholders

    • Cornwall's biggest asset is its scenery and environment
    • Many environmentalists are concerned about wasteland created by clay extraction and also the way in which soil is eroded from new arable land
  • Social stakeholders
