explain the feudal system
on the top was the king ( he owned all the land and made all the laws he gave land called a fief to rich lords and nobles)
next was the lords( they would provide the king with loyalty and military aid and the king would give them land in return
then knights (they gave the lords homage and military service and in return the lords would give food protection and shelter)
last is the peasants or serfs(they would farm land and pay rent in return for food protection and shelter)
