• 1. eggs mature in the ovaries
• 2. uterus lining thickens in preparation for pregnancy
• 3. 1 mature egg is released
• 4. egg has a chance to be fertilised
• 5. if the egg remains unfertilised , the uterus lining sheds itself , resulting in a period
• LH - a hormone that helps ovulation
• progesterone - a hormone hat maintains the uterus lining
• oestrogen- builds up the uterus lining
• FSH - a hormone that matures the ovule
