Statistical Tests

Cards (8)

  • 3 levels of measurement

    Ordinal
    Ratio and Interval
    Nominal
  • Ordinal Data

scores are ranked. Data doesn’t tell us about difference between scores, just the order
  • Ratio and Interval

scale of equal intervals, ratio has a meaningful value of 0 e.g., 0cm beans that no length exists so is ratio, but 0 Celsius means that heat doesn’t exist so can't be ratio, and so is interval. The data gives more than just the order, it shows the difference between the scores
  • Nominal
frequency scores, so the number of people in a category. No score per ppant (no info on ppant), just number of ppants in a group
