Seizures

• Seizures - finite episodes of brain dysfunction resulting from abnormal discharge of cerebral neurons characterized by an excessive, hypersynchronous discharge of cortical neuron activity, which can be measured by the ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAM (EEG)
• Convulsions - occur when a person's body shakes rapidly and uncontrollably
• Epilepsy - recurrent unprovoked seizures
