      Energy resources that were formed millions of years ago from the fossilised remains of sea creatures and plants

      Energy produced from sources that are naturally replenished and do not run out
    • Non-renewable energy

      Energy that comes from sources which will run out or will not be replenished soon and easily
    • Fossil fuels

      They are a non-renewable resource so will eventually run out, and they release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
    • Biofuel is considered carbon neutral because the plants absorb carbon dioxide when they are growing
    • Advantages of fossil fuels: easy to obtain, relatively inexpensive, reliable to burn
    • Disadvantages of fossil fuels: non-renewable, create pollution and greenhouse gases
