macbeth appears to be a loyal subject but actually isn't, ends up betraying king duncan by committing regocide
Macbeth also betrays Banquo by having him murdered when he invites him to his feast for some "advice" but in reality he only says this so n o one suspects him of murder.
Lady Macbeth appears to be a traditional woman of the time but actually isn't, uses the fact of being a woman to draw attention away from macbeth.

witches appear to be something they aren't, appears to be truthful at the beginning when they give Macbeth his prophecies but are only half true as they don't reveal the full prophecies
malcom pretends to be a bad king when macduff comes to join him, wants to test Macduffs loyalty, but in actuality he's a very good king
