The fact that he wants to remain nameless suggests that he is trying to hide himself away from society. This could suggest that he is ashamed of who he is or what he looks like. However it may also show that he is trying to avoid being caught by Victor. If he had a name then people would know who he was and this would make him more vulnerable to capture.
