Congruence

• What is congruence ?

  • when Our real and ideal self match ( must have high self worth to match)
  • have low negative self worth + able to self actualise
  • hard to achieve due to conditions of worth
• What is incingruence ?

  • when your self image + ideal self don’t match
  • not capeable or self actualisation can create negative self worth
  • may use defence mechanisms to ‘hide’ the gap between the two
• What is self actualisation ?

  • The purpose of life
  • fuffilling your potential.
  • drive to realise one’s potential
