• the killing was produced by the Danish national public service broadcaster (PSB) D R in partnership with the German public service broadcaster ZDF in 2007.
• The series was sold by ZDF to the BBC to be broadcast in the UK on BBC 4 in 2011
• As a part of the deal with ZDF the series was also sold to the British company Arrow Films who would distribute it exclusively in the UK on home video/DVD
