  • Scalars only have magnitude, no direction.

    Average speed is distance covered over a set time period. Takes into account the changes in speed.

  • When an unbalanced force acts on an object in a particular direction, its speed changes in that direction. This change of speed is called an acceleration. The greater the force acting on the object, the greater the acceleration.
  • acceleration (m/s2) = change in velocity (m/s) / time taken for change (s)
