    • Scalars only have magnitude, no direction.
    • Vectors have magnitude and direction
    • An object is in motion when its distance from another object changes
    • Displacement is a measure of the change in position. It is distance with direction
    • The speed of an object in the distance the object travels in one unit of time
    • Instantaneous speed can be described at a given point and time
      Average speed is distance covered over a set time period. Takes into account the changes in speed.
    • Speed = distance/time (m/s)
    • When an unbalanced force acts on an object in a particular direction, its speed changes in that direction. This change of speed is called an acceleration. The greater the force acting on the object, the greater the acceleration.
    • acceleration (m/s2) = change in velocity (m/s) / time taken for change (s)
