Fear arousal

• No fear causes no arousal so no behaviour is changed
• Moderate fear causes arousal and cause behaviour change
• High levels of fear causes people to go into denial and do not change their behaviour
• A review of studies showed that high levels of fear arousal do lead to behaviour change in some cases, making the model have mixed outcomes.
