  • AIM
to investigate whether exposure to a real life model increases aggression
  • SAMPLE
72 PPs, aged 3-5 from one nursery
  • PROCEDURE
half presented with an aggressive model and half presented with a non aggressive model, also included a 3rd control group (no model). They were first shown the model, then taken to a room where they couldnt play, then to another room where they could play. Observed for 20 mins
  • RESULTS
same sex effect was observed, more so in boys
  • AO3
low generalisability - all PPs came from the same nursery, however sample was large
  • AO3
low experimental validity - bobo dolls are meant to be hit so PPs may have not actually been imitating the model
  • AO3
reductionist - doesnt take into account individual differences that may have affected the behaviour eg motivation, past experiences
  • AO3
aggressiveness measured almost immediately so we cant tell the long term effects of observing a model
