• During the early years of his life, Napper witnessed his father's violence against his mother

• Napper would bully his brothers and went on to confess to his mother to raping a woman
• There were rumours that Fred was introduced to sex by his mother from a young age and allegedly engaged in acts of bestiality with animals in his early teens
• When Fred was 17 years old he had a motorcycle accident, from which he received serious head injuries, which left him in a coma for a week. A metal plate was inserted into his head, which may have affected his behaviour and left him with an inability to control his impulses
