Types of Error

• Type 1 Error

  • it is when you reject the TRUE null hypothesis.
  • denoted by alpha (a)
• Type 2 Error

  • it is when you fail to reject the false null hypothesis.
  • denoted by beta (b)
• Examples:

  1. Penny denies that he is bald. It's just that his hairline is receding.

  • Ha: Not bald (False)
  • Ho: Bald (True)
  • rejects the true null hypothesis

  2. You claimed that your crush does not like you even though your

  friend told you that your crush likes you.

  • Ha: Crush ka (True)
  • Ho: Hindi ka crush (False)
  • failed to reject the null hypothesis.
