• Components of blood :

  • Plasma - carries amino acids, mineral ions etc
  • red blood cells - carry oxygen
  • platelets - clot blood
  • white blood cells - fight infections
• functions of the blood:

  • transport platelets to damaged areas
  • acts as a buffer
  • transports oxygen around the body
• Oncotic pressure 


  Tendency of water to move into the blood by osmosis
