American revalution

• The colonists came from Britain and were to settle in America
• They were unhappy with the British rule because the king would

  • Tax them and take their money

• in 1773 the "Boston Tea Party" took place. this is when American protestors dumped British tea into the Boston Harbour to protest against the high British taxes
• In 1765, the Stamp Act was passed by Parliament which meant that all legal documents had to be stamped with a tax stamp. This made it difficult for people to get married or buy land.
• Reasons why the colonists were mad

  • British parliament didn't let them have a vote
  • The Proclamation of 1763 which was when the English passed a law to prohibit the colonists from moving west to the Appalachian Mountains
