Cards (7)
What is a synaptic cleft?
where the
neurons
do
not
touch and is
separated
by a
narrow
gap
What is the presynaptic neurone?
the
axon
terminal membrane of the neuron
carrying
the
impulse
to the
synapse.
What is postsynaptic membrane?
the
membrane
of the cell body or dendrite or the neuron carrying the
impulse
away from the
synapse.
What are neurotransmitter?
they are the chemical
molecules
used by the nervous system to
transmit
messages between
neurons
, or from neurons to muscles
What is the axon terminal?
When the
nerve
impulse reaches the
dendrites
at the end of one
axon.
What does the threshold level mean?
the point at which increasing
stimuli
trigger the generation of an
electrical
impulse.
What does a reflect arc need?
Atleast
two
neurones
