Types of Geological Maps:
Structural Map
- maps that show folds, faults and other geologic structures in an area.
Cross-section
Map
- shows the distribution, nature and the age of the rock in the area or the place.
Topographic Map
- a record of a land area giving the exact position of the place and elevation of both natural and manmade features.
Contour Lines
these lines are connected and they are the ones that can determine the
elevation
and
formation
of the place in the map.
General Rules for Contour Lines:
