  • Court
    • In the Philippines, a typical dodgeball game is played on a Volleyball court
    • There is no fixed Dodgeball court design but it must have a center line
    • The court is divided into two (2) 9m x 9m areas, with a neutral zone located at center court separating the two sides, an attacking line located parallel and 3m from the center line, for a total court length of 18m from the end line to end line, and a total width of 9m from sideline to sideline
  • Ball
    • The standard worldwide measurement and materials is a 7 - 8.25 inch foam ball
    • Most dodgeballs are roughly the size of a volleyball and composed of foam with a thin plastic shell
    • Some are made of rubber and some more specialized ones have a padded canvas surface
  • Players
    • Teams consists of six (6) strikers and six (6) retrievers with up to four (4) substitutes
    • COED (Open Category) teams may consist of either gender. However, at least 2 players of each gender must participate at the start of the game
  • Substitutes
    • Prior to the start of the game, all substitutions list must be made
    • No substitutions can be made during a game, except in cases of injury

  • Elimination Game

    • The game is played until all members of one team have been eliminated
    • The first to known out all of its opponents is the winner
  • Timed Game
    • The game is played for a pre-determined amount of time or until all members of one team are eliminated, whichever comes first
    • If there are players remaining when time expires, the team with the most players still on the court wins the game
  • Scored Game

    • A scored game can be played either an elimination game or a timed game
    • Teams earn points for the number of the players still "in" at the end of each game
  • Regulation Game

    • It consists of a pre-determined odd number of games of a single game type
    • The number of games and/or the time allotted can be altered to best suit time and attendance
  • Beginning Play

    • Play begins with all players (Strikers) positioned behind their team's endline
    • At least one foot should be stepping on the end line
  • Outs
    • Outs are declared when the players are struck below the shoulders by a live dodgeball thrown by an opposing player
    • A ball hits the player and another teammate (they are both out)
  • Attire & Safety

    • For a security, a medical advice that will determine capability of the activity is required
    • Warm up exercises before playing is also a requirement
    • Players must wear proper playing attire and rubber shoes
    • Players without footwear are not permitted to play
