Ghost of Christmas present

• 'Ignorance' and 'want' present how society during the Victorian Era were selfish like scrooge was in the begging and they shunned out the needs of the poor due to their selfish and stingy ways.
• The chains represent that ignorance and want will always be around as long as people continue to act selfishly towards others.
• 'ignorance' and 'want' are meant to be children but they are described to not even look fully human when they are described as 'wolfish'
• the ghost is trying to show Scrooge that if he doesn't change his ways, then people like 'ignorance' and 'want' will become more prominent in society which would lead to a darker future.
• The ghost represents hope and redemption as it gives Scrooge another chance at life and allows him to redeem himself from being such a horrible person.
