Text Types

• For writers effect pick a phrase/word that relates to the paragraph overview, and compare and evaluate it
• Formal letters will include (in this order): your address, date, the persons address, and the greeting, aswell as salutations
• In formal letters always use Dear as the greeting, and the first paragraph must include why you are writing to the person
• To close a formal letter you use yours faithfully if you dont know the person and yours sincerely if you do
• The structure of a descriptive text is: identification (introduction of the place/person or thing), and the description of a chosen 'object'
• The structure of an article includes: opening (outlining the main point of the text), middle (series of paragraphs that go into more detail), end (the conclusion that draws all the points together)
