Rise of Radicals

• K- X offered counterpoint to King, preaching self defense instead of non violent resistance.
• K- People frustrated with lack of progress of non violent action so many turned to more radical groups like Black Panthers for change.
• A - Radical group attracted support as they emphasised black pride. Gave voice to those in the North who felt alienated from CRM.
• A+ Less radical voices like King gained support from sympathetic whites where as radicals alienated these supporters. Targeted by the FBI who undermined and discredited them.
