• Coronary heart disease is when coronary artery becomes blocked, interrupting the supply of blood to the heart muscle.
• In coronary heart disease the heart muscle cells are deprived of oxygen & glucose, and poisonous wastes such as lactic acid build up.
• Coronary heart disease can cause part of the heart muscle to stop contracting, which causes a heart attack
• Coronary heart disease caused by stress, smoking, poor diet, poor lifestyle & genetically
• Coronary heart disease can be prevented by not smoking, avoiding fatty food and exercising regularly
• Coronary heart disease is treated by aspirin and surgery (stents, angioplasty and by-pass)
