Loss, grief, death

• Actual - loss of some or something
• perceived - felt by an individual but not tangible things
• physical - loss of part or aspect of the body
• psychological - emotional loss
• grief - series of intense physical and psychological responses
• bereavement - state of grief during which person goes through grief reaction
• mourning - period of acceptance of loss and grief during which person learns to deal with the loss
• uncomplicated - grief reaction that normally allows a significant loss
• dysfunctional - intense grief that doesn't result in reconciliation of feelings
• anticipatory - occurrence of grief work before loss actually occur
• Disenfranchised - grief that is not openly acknowledged, socially sanctioned, or publicly shared.

• Rigor Mortis - stiffening of the body that occurs 2-4 hrs after death due to loss of ATP
• Algor Mortis - decrease body temp
• Liver Mortis - dependent discoloration of the skin due to breakdown of hemoglobin; cyanosis and mottling discoloration
